WHAT WE DO
PROMOTING EMOTIONAL AND RELATIONAL WELL-BEING THROUGH AN ANTI-OPPRESSIVE & PERSON-CENTERED APPROACH
Life is not without its ups and downs. Our goal is to provide services that meet the diverse needs of the community members that we serve. We aim to create an accepting and safe environment to support our clients in achieving their goals. Our therapists utilize many, and often a combination of, approaches.
SOME OF THESE APPROACHES INCLUDE:
WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH

Anxiety
Anxiety is a complex and often overwhelming emotional and psychological state characterized by feelings of uneasiness, apprehension, worry, and fear. It is a normal human response to stress and perceived threats, but when it becomes excessive or chronic, it can significantly impact a person's daily life and well-being.

Depression
Depression is a mental health condition characterized by a lack of interest or pleasure in activities, persistent feelings of sadness, or a heaviness and weight of life that feels like too much. It can lead to physical symptoms like changes in appetite and sleep patterns, fatigue and difficulty concentrating. Depression varies in severity and can interfere with daily life and functioning.

Relationship Issues
Relationship issues refer to difficulties, conflicts, or challenges that arise between individuals in any type of interpersonal relationship, including romantic partnerships, friendships, family connections, and professional associations. These issues can vary widely in nature and severity, and they are a common part of human interactions.

Communication
Communication challenges hinder effective and clear exchange of information between individuals or groups. These challenges can arise in various settings, including personal relationships, workplaces, and social interactions. Communication is a complex process that involves both verbal and non-verbal cues, and when these challenges are present, they can lead to misunderstandings, conflicts, and breakdowns in communication.

Loss or Grief
Loss feels like a void, an ache that permeates the soul. It's a heavy, lingering presence, a sense of absence where once there was presence. Grief is a turbulent sea of emotions: waves of sadness, anger, longing, and acceptance, often crashing unpredictably. It's a journey, navigating through moments of despair, acceptance, and eventual healing, each step unique and personal.

Life Changes
Life changes, whether anticipated or unexpected, can present a wide range of challenges that individuals must navigate. These challenges often arise due to the disruption of established routines, the need to adapt to new circumstances, and the emotional toll that major life changes can take.

Trauma and Complex Trauma
Trauma can have a profound and long-standing impact on an individual's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Its effects can vary widely from person-to-person and depending on the nature, severity and duration of traumatic experience. Trauma can cause flash backs and nightmares, can impact cognitive ability, can cause changes in behavior, and can strain relationships. We can help you process and reprogram your trauma response and find ways to heal.

Stress
Stress is the body's natural response to demands or challenges, triggering a cascade of physiological and psychological reactions. It can result from various sources, such as work, relationships, or major life changes. Chronic or excessive stress can lead to physical and mental health issues, making it crucial to manage effective stress management techniques.
